At VOT, we don't charge for volunteering or placement; the fee is for your daily expenses during your entire stay in Mwanza.

Your Accommodation, Meals and Transport fee includes:

  • Personal pre-­arrival support and advice

  • Visa acquiring instruction  

  • Paperwork and contract-making 

  • Airport transportation 

  • Accommodation 

  • 3 meals a day 

  • Drinking water at VOT Hostels

  • 5 days Swahili language training

  • Mwanza City tour and orientation about Swahili Culture 

  • Possibility to continue Swahili language training during the whole trip 

  • Local prepaid SIM card registration assistance.  ​

  • Daily two-way transportation to your placements 

  • 24/7 personal support and guidance from VOT workers ​

  • Free WIFI at VOT Hostel. ​

Remember

Some few placements have their own interns weekly/monthly fee. The fee varies from USD 25 - 61 per week and is normally paid in cash at the placement on the first working day. Contact us for more information

Visa and Residence Permit:

  • If your internship/ volunteering/exchange program period is less than 3 months, you need to buy a student visa online or as you arrive to Tanzania 

  • If your internship/ volunteering/ teacher exchange period is more than 3 months, you will have to buy a residence permit. You can contact us for more information and assistance.
